Speaking page 79
An Environmental Event

Imagine that you are planning an event for the ENVIRONMENT DAY. Close your eyes and imagine what you are going to do. Imagine the place, the people, the activities and the outcomes (resultados) you expect to get. Imagine it as vivid as possible.

Now, you must find somebody to do the dialogue with you. You can do it with your sister or with a classmate via WhatsApp or some other system.

You must do one dialogue for each person, so you must ask in one dialogue and answer in the other dialogue.

Good luck: you are doing really good audios 👌

ANSWERS THIRD WEEK

miércoles, 6 de mayo de 2020

Thursday 7th May 2020

Good morning class!!!

After so many writing activities about the FUTURE and about the CONDITIONALS, it's time to do something oral.

Today, you are going to complete some sentences with your own ideas and you are going to record your voice in an audio.

FIRST CONDITIONAL

 SECOND CONDITIONAL
Si queremos usar el verbo TO BE en pasado (WAS-WERE) en el Segundo Condicional es muy común poner WERE en todas las personas. Por ejemplo :
If I were you I would keep social distance.

To help you practice and better understand the conditionals, I have posted two videos ⇉⇉⇉⇉⇉
Have a look at them and prectice.

Then, you must read all the eighteen sentences and send me the audio and a photo of all the sentences written in your notebook.

If the sentences are not correct I'll ask you to do them again. So try to do them right at the first attempt.

Deadline: Friday 8th

GOOD LUCK

domingo, 3 de mayo de 2020

TUESDAY 5TH MAY AND WEDNESDAY 6TH MAY 2020

GOOD MORNING CLASS.

This working week starts on Tuesday 😉   and a new month is here: May.

We keep on confined, but doing sports outdoors is a great relief 👍.

I want to thank you for keeping in contact and for doing and sending your work everyday. It's great any time I get one of your mails with the activities, but the best is what you write in the mails. I appreciate very much you opinions, comments and suggestions. Please, keep on writing long emails: it's good for your English and for my self-steem ☺!!!!

Oh, I've just remembered that the very best is your audios. It's great to hear your voices, to know that you are there and enjoying your efforts to get a good pronunciation.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, let's see what we are going to do today and tomorrow:
First and second conditional require some study on your part. It's important that you revise my explanation in the last post and the grammar appendix on page 171

So, I insist: STUDY THE GRAMMAR and learn some model sentences. That will help you a lot.
You can also watch the video of AMIGOS INGLESES  which is on the right of this post. They tell us about the ZERO CONDITIONAL AND THE THIRD CONDITIONAL. As we haven't studied them, please focus only on FIRST AND SECOND CONDITIONAL. The video is really good and will help you a lot.

And watch the the two videos. They are explained in Spanish and will also help you understand.⇉⇉⇉⇉⇉⇉

Have you already studied? Ok, then let's revise all THE FUTURE and THE CONDITIONALS with these exercises:

PAGE 157 EX 1- 2- 3- 4
PAGE 158 EX 5 - 6 - 7

It's not a lot of work for two days. That's because you have to revise the grammar first and then do the activities slowly, understanding every sentence and finding the right answer. Let's avoid mistakes.

ENJOY YOUR ENGLISH LEARNING!!!!!

miércoles, 29 de abril de 2020

THURSDAY 30TH APRIL

GOOD MORNING CLASS!

It's the last working day of the month and tomorrow starts a long weekend ("puente" in Spanish).

What do we celebrate tomorrow?
The first of May in the International Worker's Day.

It's a day to honor all the people that work for us, like doctors, police officers, teachers, drivers, construction workers, cleaners, etc. We must be thankful to all these workers because the are at our service and make our lives easier.

And now, after this introduction to our last working day of the week, we are going to talk about our work.
It's time to start with the CONDITIONAL SENTENCES:

FIRST CONDITIONAL  (primer condicional)
IF       YOU STUDY,        YOU WILL PASS
    SI         ESTUDIAS,          APROBARÁS
Como veis, la frase tiene dos partes:
Una condición:             IF YOU STUDY  (Si estudias) -   TIEMPO PRESENTE
Y una consecuencia:    YOU WILL PASS (aprobarás) -    TIEMPO FUTURO

YOU WILL PASS IF YOU STUDY

IF PRESENT + WILL
WILL + IF PRESENT

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

SECOND CONDITIONAL (Segundo condicional)
IF    YOU STUDIED          YOU WOULD PASS
Una condición:             IF YOU STUDIED  (Si estudiases) -   TIEMPO PRASADO
Y una consecuencia:    YOU WOULD PASS (aprobarías) -      CONDICIONAL

WOULD pone el verbo en condicional:              You WOULD pass (aprobarías)

Fórmula del segundo condicional:

IF PAST + WOULD
WOULD + IF PAST

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First conditional
UNLESS      YOU STUDY,        YOU WON'T PASS
  Si no               estudias,               no aprobarás
 Second conditional
UNLESS      YOU STUDIED,     YOU WOLDN'T PASS
Si no              estudiases,              no aprobarías

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

YOU WON'T PASS UNLESS YOU STUDY
  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Revise these notes, copy them in your notebook and do these exercises:
https://padlet-uploads.storage.googleapis.com/487361353/8231dcc90fc655628b1565d2fe5aaa67/WTE2_SB_CD2_25.mp3PAGE 77, EX 5, 6, 7
Here's the audio for EX 7:
